In 1988, after living in the US for about a year, she started to miss Japan. She wanted to bake cakes that she remembered. She thought Japanese cakes tasted better than any cakes that she had eaten in other countries.
Her cakes are not too sweet. She changes the sweetness depending on the ingredients. Furthermore, in order to keep the best texture of her sponge cakes, she always bake two of them to make one whole cake.
The compliments she receives from her friends have motivated her to continue to bake cakes and have encouraged her not to give up until she gets it right when she tries new recipes.Based in: Coquitlam
