The calligrapher, Kisyuu, will be performing in the Spatial Poetics event with the taiko artists, Linda Uyehara Hoffman and Eileen Kage. Enjoy their interdisciplinary experimental performance piece, “Weeping Mother”, inspired by Spanish, First Nations, and Russian ghostlore.
The second half of the evening is a retelling of the Japanese folk tale, “Mujina, the Faceless Ghost” performed by the dance artists Jay Hirabayashi and Barbara Bourget, and composer/performer Stefan Smulovitz.
